Last Friday, 1st March 2019, a third male Queensland fruit fly was found in Northcote. It was found in a surveillance trap less than 300 metres away from where the last fly was found in that area.
This is the fourth Queensland fruit fly discovered on Auckalnds North Shore in just over two weeks;
14th Feb - discovered in Devonport
20th Feb - discovered in Northcote
25th - discovered in Northcote
1st March - discovered in Northcote
Despite these discoveries, there is still no evidence of a breeding population in these areas.
